Welcome to the St George’s Players!
Celebrating our 90th anniversary in 2024 is such an extraordinary accomplishment for a small group of volunteers wanting to entertain and bring a smile to their local community. Over the years, the talents of so many have been nurtured, and encouraged to join like-minded others wanting to express their creativity and make friends.
Everybody is always welcome, without membership fees, whatever your level of experience, and that ethos is still what we’re all about 90 years on!
Those of us that have been lucky enough to grace the SGP stage over the years are merely small cogs in a large wheel; there are so many names that we need to thank across our entire heritage, who kept this group going throughout so many life-changing world events; a world war, man landing on the moon, a changing monarchy, the invention of television, to name just a few! It’s outstanding and incredibly humbling to now play a small part in such an incredible legacy, and something that we all especially proud to be a part of.
Be it performing on stage, backstage management, assisting production, sound & lighting, set building & painting, writing, directing, costumes & make-up; whatever your interest, our door is always open to those that wish to be a part of a real, creative, community team. We look forward to welcoming you for our anniversary year and beyond!
